Dr Robyn Coleman MBBS (Syd Uni) ACCAM
As a full-time artist I love to paint still life and landscapes in pastels and handmade Australian earth pastels as a self expression of the colours, shapes, lines and patterns. As a retired doctor I know the powerful therapeutic effect of art on anxiety, depression, grief and dementia. I completed a Diploma of Visual Arts over two years part-time at the Northbridge School of Visual Arts in 2005.
I joined the Royal Art Society of NSW in 2006 as a student with Greg Hansell, one of Australia's best pastel artists. Greg described my work as follows:
"Robyn's unique personal vision has overtones of mid-century Northern European expressionism in her richly colourful translation of still life subjects".
At the annual Royal Art Society Student Exhibitions I have won two Commended, two Highly commended and one Encouragement Awards. In 2017 I was admitted as an Exhibiting Member at the Royal Art Society of NSW. Since joining the society I have been exhibited in each exhibition. I am also a member of the Australian Society of Marine Artists.
