Lesley O’Shea FRAS
To put it simply, I have always loved to draw, and I have also felt a sense of purpose in helping and working with people. These two directions in my life have culminated in working with children as a Speech Pathologist for over 30 years, while drawing and painting in my leisure time.
I work across many mediums, however my favourite is the expressive use of watercolour, pastels and inks. I take my inspiration from the people and places of my surroundings; whether that is a landscape, an interior, or a portrait.
In 2002 I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the National Art School and became a Fellow of the Royal Art Society of NSW in 2008. I have been exhibited in many exhibitions including the Portia Geach Portrait prize and the Kedumba Drawing Prize. My work is regularly exhibited in the Royal Art Society members’ exhibitions. My drawings have been published in a book called “Two Lives, One Road”, which also features the drawings of my best friend in life, Joe Penn. I have recently illustrated a children’s book, “Max’s Moon Dragon” written by fellow Speech Pathologist and Architect, Jill Gleave.
