Morris B. Yang ARAS

Morris’s passion for art began in childhood, inspired by watching his father paint on furniture glass. He spent much of his high school and university years drawing and exploring art. After moving to Australia, Morris became fascinated by the local landscape and beach culture. He began painting more seriously while working as a surveyor in Western Australia.

Since relocating to Sydney in 2017, Morris has been an active artist, painting not only portraits but also coastlines and mountains. His distinctive style features bold brush and palette knife strokes, careful attention to edges, and a unique approach to colour. His work captures the essence of his subjects with energy and emotion.

Morris is an Associate Member of the Royal Art Society of NSW and a member of the Portrait Society of America. His achievements include a Gold Award at the 2025 International Online Painting Exhibition, with recognition in exhibitions such as the Royal Art Society shows, Art of Sydney Awards (CASS), Hornsby Art Prize, and Titian International Portrait Prize.

He teaches at the Royal Art Society and Sydney Art School, advises the Yanhuang Art Academy of Australia, and conducts workshops and demonstrations. His portraits and landscapes are widely collected. Morris also accepts portrait commissions, creating personalised works with character and depth.
