My love affair with art started relatively late in life and, in retirement, I am fortunate enough to be able to devote my energies and attention to nurturing this union. As with most relationships, the more I put into it the greater the rewards. Naive unbounded enthusiasm sustained me to complete twelve challenging portraits of the Principals of Sancta Sophia College at University of Sydney between 2012 - 2015. Themed Warm, wise, strong women,  these portraits now hang together in the College’s Sheldon Dining Hall.

Attending numerous workshops with teaching artists, who generously shared their knowledge and expertise, has helped me mature artistically and improve my technical skills. This year, my portrait of Sr Mary Shanahan standing in contemplative reflection in front of her Sancta portrait was selected as a finalist in the Emerging Artist category of the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize. The RAS NSW also accepted me as an exhibiting member.

Secure in the knowledge that this relationship is for keeps, I embrace new challenges and look forward to visually portraying all the ideas and images that fill my head and heart.
