Harald Kamp

Harald Kamp was born in Germany and since 1980 has been living permanently in Australia. Now retired, Harald’s career included international work as a display artist, prop designer, illustrator, commercial designer and consultant. Despite his commercial success, painting and illustration have consistently remained the most important part of his creative life. Extensive travels over the past 55 years have influenced Harald to develop his own artistic philosophy that is rooted in capturing the ever-changing colours and abstract details of nature, the interaction between humans and their environments and the complexity of what makes us human, including love, loss and human connection. His style is constantly evolving - spanning abstract dialogues with nature using mixed media, detailed ink pen autobiographical illustrations and abstract figurative paintings. The constant across his works is a desire to capture the essence of nature and humanity.

Harald has exhibited in solo and group shows overseas and in Australia. His work has been sold in Germany, Indonesia, New Zealand and Australia.
