As a full-time artist I love to paint as a self expression of the colours, shapes, lines, patterns and design of still life.  I also love boats and seascapes.  I have been sailing on Sydney Harbour for the last 30 years and travelled widely sailing in the Whitsundays, Mediterranean, Caribbean and Antarctica.  As a retired doctor I know the powerful therapeutic effect of art on depression, grief and dementia.  I completed a Diploma of Visual Arts over two years part-time at the Northbridge School of Visual Arts in 2005.  I joined the Royal Art Society of NSW in 2006 as a student with Greg Hansell, an outstanding award winning pastel artist.  Greg described my work as "very individual and expressive" when I successfully applied to exhibit at the Abbotsleigh Old Girls Exhibition in 2008.  At the annual Royal Art Society Student Exhibitions I have won two Commended, two Highly commended and one Encouragement Awards.  In 2017 I was admitted as an Exhibiting Member at the Royal Art Society of NSW.  I am also a member of the Mosman Art Society.
